Time to Rest
Catch up on the latest from Between Starshine and Clay during the spring 2025 Mercury Retrograde
Here at Between Starshine and Clay, Mercury retrograde is a time for rest and review. Venus is also retrograde and its eclipse season, so I’m honoring myself with a little break a few days ahead of Mercury’s moonwalk through the sky. I hope you’ll take rest where you can, too.
Before I log off for a bit, let’s quickly recap what I’ve shared since the last retrograde rewind.
She’s an Author 💅🏾
I got published for the first time! My article “From The End to Eden: Myth and Literature for a New World” discusses practical applications of ecopsychology, speculative fiction, and critical fabulation to change ourselves and the world.
I busted my hump to produce this article and Volume 12 of the Mythological Studies Journal and I am really proud of them. If you’re curious for some insight about what it took to release the most recent volume, the International Society of Mythology interviewed my colleague Kira Kull and I about our process. My graduate program also invited us to share our editorial letter with the entire school community. Links to both pieces are below:

Polaris Manifesto, Part 0-4
The Polaris Manifesto is a nine-part series that unpacks what myth has to do with social justice by approaching stories as sources of power and tools for change.
Each part of the manifesto is chock full of creative prompts and free resources inviting you to understand how stories shape our world. I also recorded audio recitations to accompany each written piece if you prefer to listen instead of read.
Part 5 of the Polaris Manifesto will debut next month. Let me know which piece resonates with you the most in the comments.
See y’all in April ✌🏽1
